Joe Wheeler State Park

  • A tornado went through a few years ago and tore out a lot of trees. It was the best thing that happened to the park because they rebuilt facilities and now their are panoramic views of the lake.
  • Great for exploring Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield and Tuscumbia (The Quad Cities). Florence has some decent restaurants and if you're up for an adventure, visit Rattlesnake Canyon Saloon. It's basically a honky-tonk in a cave.

  • Nice little campground with some good hikes directly from the campground.
